FEATURES OF THE TRANSLATION OF MODERN DRAMA TEXT (BASED ON THE PLAY BY DIRK LAUKE "ALTER FORD ESCORT DUNKELBLAU")

Abstract

The relevance of the research problem is caused by the negligible interest of contemporary Ukrainian playwrights in the works of foreign authors of new writing from around the world. Despite the flourishing of the "new drama" in Germany, Great Britain, Serbia, Poland, Belarus and other countries, such plays are extremely rare on the Ukrainian scene, one of the reasons for which is the lack of their translations into Ukrainian. The article substantiates the relevance and analyzes the reasons for the complexity of the translation of samples of the latest European drama. On the example of the play of modern German playwright Dirk Lauke "alter ford escort dunkelblau" the author defines the main features of the dramatic text and analyzes the main difficulties of the translation of the contemporary drama, describes the main ways of their overcoming. The dramatic text has a specific nature, which determines the peculiarities of its translation. When translating dramatic texts, the interpreter must realize that this type of text, appealing to its spiritual and initiative perception by different people, is a product of the spiritual and practical experience of a gifted person like as a bearer of stable and meaningful information, ideas, mindsets and meanings. That is why the translator faces the task of not literally translating the text, that is, actually the linguistic side of the dramatic work, but the need for preservation or re-coding of the subject-shaped and ideological and semantic spheres. It is also to mention, that it is necessary to distinguish between the main dramatic text and the side text: the title and notes, which are the subject of special study, epigraphs, dedications, authorial prefixes, designation of dates and places of writing, as well as lists of actors and remarks by the playwright.
