THE INFOLOGICAL APPROACH TO THE IMAGERY OF THE ENGLISH POETIC DISCOURSE OF THE XXI CENTURY

Abstract

The article focuses on the analysis of the the infological approach which is represented while analyzing the poetic discourse of the 21st century, especially the infological mechanisms of tropes. The infological approach to the science has been described. This work focuses on revealing the specific features of the imagery of the English poetic discourse of the 21st century in linguistic and cognitive perspectives. The poetic discourse of the XXI century is a kind of projection of social consciousness, which creates conditions for artistic identification of person and society. The English poetic discourse demonstrates a number of unique features that determine the characteristics of the national mentality and culture of the American and British language communities.

The investigation of the mechanism of language implementation realities in terms of the author’s perception of the world is the trend of modern linguistic science. Imagery as a result of reflection of the world in the poetic discourse of the 21st century, is a form that accumulates various features of the phenomena surrounding reality, refracted through the prism of the author’s artistic consciousness. It suggests a comprehensive methodology for exposing discursive properties of imagery in the frameworks of cognitive and the infological paradigm of linguistics. After having reviewed the basic concepts of the infological approach in cyber researches and having extrapolated their methodology to the problem of imagery of the English poetic discourse of the 21st century, it is possible to develop the infological “entity - relationship model”. The essential difference between the infological and discursive approaches is modeling human activity with the help of reflection as internal feedback. The infological approach is the synthesis of cognitive, discursive and communicative-pragmatic approaches in the field of poetic discourse. It is argued that infological approach to the imagery ensure better understanding of functioning of trope, affects the perlocutionary effect on the reader of contemporary English and American poetic discourse.
