GENERAL STYLE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DISCOURSE OF THE MODERN ENGLISH PARABLE: SYNERGETIC ASPECT

Abstract

The article performs the general synergetic analysis of the modern English parable based on profound research on Synergetics; the general characteristics of the style of discourse of the modern English parable from the Synergetics point of view have been investigated and singled out. It is revealed that the formation of the discourse of the modern English parable takes place at three main stages: cognitive, pragmatic and the stage of speech realization with the corresponding participants at each stage. The article also identifies the participants of each stage who create a self-organizing system, in particular: the authors of the discourse, who act as linguistic personalities; social expectations (orders) for the results of the discourse; restrictions on discourse: traditions of genres, volume, norms of presentation, extralingual conditions, etc. The study confirms that the modern English parable is subject to restrictions on the discourse of the parable: the traditions of genres, volume, norms of presentation, extralingual conditions. On the examples of the modern English parable taken from the Internet, it is proved that the modern parable differs in the simplicity of style and presentation of the plot, modern characters and symbols that adapt to the modern way of life. The style and syntactic structure of sentences have been also studied. It was found that the stylistic devices used by the author do not have a deep subtext. The main function of the modern English parable is singled out, namely, didactic; the article also notes that moral is always present, and it is clear to every reader. It is stated that interactivity of the modern parable lies in the moral of the text, and the instructive function makes the reader think, it is dominant in modern parables and is represented through the actions of the usual characters of the parable. It is proved that the typological feature of the English discourse of the parable is the presence of a subtext. The article outlines the prospects for further research, which include the comparative analysis of synergetic characteristics of the parables of past centuries in comparison with modern parables.
