The material showed that along with such terms as composition, syntax, secondary nomination, and affixation, the most productive in this area is word formation using abbreviation. Attention is drawn to the fact that the SMS language is based on abbreviations and conventions, which are actively used by a wide range of mobile users to send short text messages. It has been noted that SMS language, “new language” or “test language” is practically meta-language and not so much translated as localized, adapted to the linguistic and cultural norms of its users [Language Localization]. It is concluded that the new language differs from the national language by specific vocabulary, phraseology, graphics, word formation, the absence of punctuation marks, which are often replaced by icons. The influence of modern scientific and technological technologies causes the emergence of new words, phrases and terms in the modern English language of mobile communications in term of expressions, and the terminological units of mobile communication technologies reflect both the structural and lexical features of modern English language skills.
