VERBALIZATION OF THE FLEUR CONCEPT IN A LITERARY TALE FOR THE CHILDREN OF MAURICE DREWON “TISTOU LES POUCES VERTS”

Abstract

Individual author’s concepts reflect the personal experience of the writer, his imagination, associations, vision of the world and attitude to it, which is reflected in the artistic speech, in the language of the work. In modern linguistics, considerable attention is paid to the concept as a unit of the writer’s individual authorial picture of the world. Within the limits of the mentioned problems, no studies were found in which the analysis of means of verbalization of the FLEUR concept in Maurice Druon’s literary tale “Tistou les pouces verts” would have been carried out. The purpose of the investigation is to analyze and describe the peculiarities of the embodiment of the artistic concept of FLEUR in the text of the fairy tale for children by M. Druon “Tistou les pouces verts”. The task of the work is to determine the content of the FLEUR concept in the work of M. Druon, to analyze the specifics of its semantic content. The object of the research is the concept of FLEUR, verbalized in the text of M. Druon’s children’s tale “Tistou les pouces verts”, the subject is the peculiarities of the lexicalsemantic verbalization of the FLEUR concept in the mentioned work of the famous French writer. In Maurice Druon’s fairy-tale work for children, “Tistou les pouces verts”, the flower embodies female beauty and symbolizes a prosperous life (in the house of Tistou’s parents); presents as a reformer of evil people (in prison); imagines as a creator, a builder (in the slums of the city); it is represented as a means of treating patients and becomes a symbol of a miracle (in a city hospital); it is associated with the homeland (in the zoo) and acts as a fighter against the greatest evil (during the war). The fairy tale verbalizes the idea of the significant influence of flowers on a person, his feelings, sense of smell, sight, and curiosity. Groups of similes and metaphors establish relationships between flowers and other categories. Only one flower in the text of the work is likened to evil; like wheatgrass (le chiendent), war can spread throughout the world, its comparison to weeds indicates the difficulty of fighting it. It was against the war that Tistu used the most diverse flowers with which he was able to overcome this calamity. In the text of the fairy tale, the FLEUR concept closely overlaps with the MAL concept. With flowers, Tistu was able to correct numerous troubles, overcome various types of evil, the only disaster that flowers could not overcome is death.
