THE CONCEPT ART IN THE NARRATIVE-SEMIOTIC AND IMAGINARY REPRESENTATION IN THE LITERARY TEXT

Abstract

The article represents the actual problem of the interaction of different kinds of art within the framework of a literary text, which happens due to the increasing value of the encoding and trans-coding texts as semiotic systems. The current study is devoted to the study of the concept ART in its various manifestations within the framework of the literary text.

The literary text is defined as a system in which the codes of different types of media, intersect. Concept ART within the literary text can be found at the narrative level and imaginary-symbolic level. In this study, the focus is on the study of figurative rethinking of art, in particular, architectural structures. The involvement of conceptual metaphors allows tracing the discovery of the features of the character of the protagonist through the description of architectural installations.

The results obtained in the present study permit to come to the conclusion that the literary text is a complex system open to intermedial interactions, combining in its structure the elements belonging to different media. The findings of this narrative study in the intermedial features of the literary text demonstrated that the author tends to reveal the main character’s inner world with the help of art. Concept ART is revealed in this context as a cultural universality, which can preserve the centuries-old experience and simultaneously adapting to the contextual content of the present.

By integrating the past, present, and future, the concept ART claims to establish a dialogue of epochs, as well as the unification of the genetic set of meanings and the prospects for their transformations.
