ECOLOGICAL MOTIVES IN THE CHILDRENʼS WORKS OF OLENA PCHILKA (BASED ON THE COLLECTION “CHILDREN, STOP SLEEPING!”)

Abstract

The article analyzes the role and significance of Olena Pchilkaʼs childrenʼs works in understanding the diversity of the natural world, conscious perception of the natural environment, and rethinking the connection between human and nature. Based on the analysis of the writerʼs creative heritage, the topic of harmonious coexistence of human and nature, preservation of nature for posterity, responsible attitude towards nature and the human is revealed. The basis of the study is the literary interpretation of the eco-centric aspect in Olena Pchilkaʼs childrenʼs works (based on the collection Children, stop sleeping!). Nature oriented topic in her works are interpreted using specific examples, in particular the topic of human intervention in the natural environment, the issue of preserving natural resources and the unique beauty of the native land, the topic of the consequences of human activity. It has been demonstrated that nature appears as a means of ecological, aesthetic, moral, patriotic and civic education of children. It was found that the childrenʼs works of Olena Pchilka have a psychological and personal orientation, aimed at a deep penetration into the psychology of the child’s soul and their inner world. It was determined that in this way the writer actualizes psychological tools of influence on her reader for the sake of harmonious coexistence of human and nature, establishment of balance between them. Attention is focused on the fact that the literary creations of Olena Pchilka play an important role in the formation of the childʼs ecological worldview and ecological consciousness, expanding their natural and scientific knowledge. It was found out that the writerʼs works contain a deep sense of the harmony of human and nature, where both components closely interact and coexist, because human was born as a part of nature, and therefore his existence depends on nature. It was determined that Olena Pchilka considered the filling of a pure childʼs soul with moral, spiritual, beautiful, ethical content to be an important task of her literary creations. Nature oriented issues of Olena Pchilkaʼs childrenʼs works are marked by the authorʼs worldview, filled with the psychology of perception and reinterpretation of the environment of the writer herself. It is concluded that childrenʼs works of Olena Pchilka teach to live and love the life, to notice the beauty around, to treat living beings humanely and with care, to preserve and multiply natural resources.
