Abstract

In the article the authors focuses on the impacts of information technology on human life and the changes in vocabulary associated with the development of information processes as a whole The object of the research is the impact of information neologismus on different sides of social life of German society: industry, economics, medicine, culture. Today, innovations in information technology are having wide-ranging effects both positive and negative across numerous domains of society. The Internet has turned our existence upside down. The ongoing computing and communications revolution has numerous economic and social impacts on modern society. It has revolutionized communications, to the extent that it is now our preferred medium of everyday communication. Over the past decade, smartphones have revolutionized our lives in ways that go well beyond how we communicate. Besides calling, texting, and emailing, more than two billion people around the world now use these devices to navigate, to book cab rides, to compare product reviews and prices, to follow the news, to watch movies, to listen to music, to play video games, to memorialize vacations, and, not least of all, to participate in social media In almost everything we do, we use the Internet. Computers and communication technologies allow individuals to communicate with one another in ways complementary to traditional faceto- face, telephonic, and written modes. One of the most significant outcomes of the progress of information technology is probably electronic commerce over the Internet, a new way of conducting business. Already, it affects such large sectors as communications, finance and retail trade and might expand to areas such as education and health services. A number of industries are affected by electronic commerce. The distribution sector is directly affected, as e-commerce is a way of supplying and delivering goods and services. E-commerce might also create new markets or extend market reach beyond traditional borders. Now, in the 21st century, the vision of the fully automated, smart home is actually being realized. Turning the lights on when you're away from home is the simplest application of smart home technology. Technological progress inevitably creates dependence on technology. Dependence on technology can bring risks. The author comes to the conclusion that the most intensive neologismus appears in such spheres as “modern information technology”, “social communication”, “mobile communication”, “free time activities and entertainment”, “economics and trade”, “health and wellness”, “everyday life”, “study and education”, “financial market”. The study is based on the corpus of a dictionary of neologisms in the online projects “Wortwarte” and “OWID”.
