VERBALIZATION OF SPACE PARAMETER IN THE TEXTS OF FOLKTALE (ON THE BASIS OF GERMAN FAIRY TALES)
Abstract
The article focuses on verbalization of space parameter in the texts of German folktales. The choice of the subject of the article is conditioned by the importanсe of the lexical units of spatial semantics in the German language and by their great sense load. Some general and specific features of linguistic picture of the world of German ethnos are outlined in this concept. By concrete examples the author shows the peculiarities of this category realization in the consciousness of native speakers of the German language and culture. The objectification of space parameter of German folktales occurs with the help of different structural means and parts of speech. The concrete space perceptions have found their reflection in the German folktales. These perceptions are specified and structured with prefixes, adverbs and adverbial modifiers, prepositional-case constructions and various contextual markers. Systematized the linguistic level conveying the spatial characteristics of person and objects are revealed. Moving within the fantastic space is in three areas: road leads into the distance, up or down. Most movement occurs in a horizontal vector. The vertical vector of space, along with the horizontal, plays an important role in the perception of his person. Spatial characteristics of reality “up / down” determines one of the main oppositions, correlative with the basic elements of the universe. The research is based on the cognitive approach, which views language structures in the unity of people’s general knowledge of the world, and on the linguo-cultural approach the main task of which is the interpretation of the people’s mentality and culture via language. Integration and synthesis of cognitive and linguo-cultural approaches lets in a thorough way reveal close relations between language, mentality and culture.
