THE ROLE OF A NATIVE-SPEAKING TUTOR IN THE PROCESS OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the role of a native speaker, who acts as a homologue during teaching of a foreign language. The content of the article represents the observations and analytical conclusions resulting from joint teaching activity for certain number of years. Native speaker (l'enseignant-natif) creates his professional skills not only on the basis of the knowledge gained during the professional training but also on the basis of knowledge of native culture, based on intellectual national capital. He is the carrier of certain professional etiquette, the etiquette of error detection and correction and the ability to argue his own knowledge.
